Cholesterol Goes Down; Happiness Goes Up

Last year I left my previous job at the age of 65, after having worked as a banker for 41 years. Due to my diligence, performance, and expertise and with the help of my former boss, I was immediately offered to work as general manager at a subsidiary of my old company. At the time, I had some health issues after dedicating myself to work for 42 years. I got tired easily. After I got home, I would watch TV after dinner but would fall asleep on the couch within two minutes. My body fat percentage, blood pressure, and cholesterol were all high, and I had two prostate surgeries. For all the reasons above, my family and I were reevaluating whether I should keep this nice new job with high pay.

Later on my colleague recommended me to join Tai Ji Men. I found that people not only improve their health but also cultivate their hearts and moral character at Tai Ji Men. All Tai Ji Men members are confident, friendly, and sincere. That type of sincerity is rarely seen in society nowadays. I respect and admire my Shifu's words of wisdom. They may sound simple when you first hear them but in fact are insightful after giving them careful thought. I find them very helpful when I need guidance in life.

I get up every day at around 6 am to practice qigong for 40 minutes. I would sweat profusely after about 20 minutes of practice and feel much more refreshed and cheerful when I get to my office.  After dinner, I can watch two hours of TV without dozing off. Now I feel revitalized and happy every day. My colleagues said that I look much more energetic and younger than before.

I went to a hospital for a blood test after practicing qigong for 7 months. The results showed that my cholesterol went down from 235 to 167 (the normal range should be less than 200); LDL (bad cholesterol) went down frLast year I left my previous job at the age of 65, after having worked as a banker for 41 years. My blood pressure is around 150/85 right after I get up in the morning (the ideal number is 148/86 according to my age), but for the rest of the day it is around 130/75. My body fat percentage also went down to be at the normal range. While all the numbers went down, only one number, which is the index of happiness, has been going up.
